Retractions & Corrections

Finance, Accounting and Business Analysis (FABA) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. When errors or misconduct are identified, the journal acts promptly and transparently.

This policy operates in alignment with:

• Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement
• Handling Misconduct Policy
• Plagiarism Screening Policy
• Conflict of Interest Policy

  1. Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to:

• correct significant errors;
• alert readers to unreliable content;
• ensure transparency in the publication record;
• preserve trust in academic communication.

  1. Types of Post-Publication Notices

A. Correction (Erratum / Corrigendum)

A correction is issued when:

• minor errors are identified that do not invalidate the findings;
• author name, affiliation, or funding information requires amendment;
• formatting or production errors occurred.

Corrections are:

• clearly labeled;
• linked to the original article;
• assigned their own DOI (where applicable).

B. Expression of Concern

An expression of concern may be issued when:

• there are credible concerns about the integrity of a publication;
• an investigation is ongoing;
• conclusive evidence is not yet available.

The notice will remain associated with the article until the investigation concludes.

C. Retraction

A retraction is issued when:

• findings are unreliable due to misconduct or major error;
• plagiarism or redundant publication is confirmed;
• data fabrication or falsification is established;
• unethical research practices are identified;
• serious undisclosed conflicts of interest are discovered.

  1. Retraction Procedure

When retraction is warranted:

• authors are informed and invited to respond;
• evidence is reviewed;
• institutional authorities may be contacted when appropriate;
• a formal retraction notice is prepared.

The retraction notice:

• clearly states the reason for retraction;
• distinguishes between misconduct and honest error;
• remains permanently accessible;
• is linked to the original article.

The original article will remain online but will be clearly marked as “Retracted.”

  1. Article Removal (Exceptional Circumstances)

Article removal is considered only in rare cases involving:

• legal requirements (e.g., court order);
• defamation;
• serious privacy violations;
• immediate public health risk.

In such cases, bibliographic information will remain, and a removal notice will be published.

  1. Author-Initiated Corrections

Authors may request correction if they identify significant errors post-publication. Requests must include:

• detailed explanation;
• supporting documentation.

The editorial team will assess the request and determine the appropriate action.

  1. Transparency and Indexing

All corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions are:

• clearly indexed;
• linked to the original article;
• communicated to indexing services and repositories where appropriate.

  1. Editorial Authority

Final decisions regarding corrections and retractions are made by the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with the Editorial Board, where necessary.

The Publisher does not interfere in corrective editorial decisions.

  1. Commitment to Integrity

The journal prioritizes correction of the scholarly record over reputational considerations. Post-publication actions are taken solely to protect research integrity and reader trust.
